Selvy grew up in the ring showing pigs and always had a passion for it. He knew that someday, not only would he want to raise pigs of his own, but he would want to do it to provide stock for his own family. “I’ve always wanted to raise our own showstock for our family and other families as well,” comments Selvy. Amongst Selvy’s many inspirations and influences to get started in this business was his mentor, Nathan Weisinger. “He has always provided my family and myself great advice and the things I have learned from him have been applied to the way I have started my own operation,” Selvy says. Selvy plans to keep his operation smaller and grow to no more than 25 sows. He hopes this will help him adhere to the goal to always raise high-quality pigs that are affordable and provide a great experience for families and kids wanting to show pigs at all levels. After selling pigs off the farm for the last few years, Selvy is ready to build his brand and gain more exposure. He’s decided to consign in the upcoming Debut to introduce his brand to the online audience and build relationships with more customers in areas outside of his past geographic location.   The Debut is a premier consignment auction platform that showcases new consignors, breeders or operations looking for a facelift or re-introduction to the market.
